Maigari’s impeachment: NFF in fresh FIFA trouble

The Aminu Maigari saga might not be over yet, as FIFA has reportedly asked the NFF to provide full details of the process that led to his impeachment as NFF president.
This new development comes ahead of the NFF elections into the board.
Maigari was removed at an executive committee meeting in July, but the circumstances surrounding his impeachment are now questionable, as one of the Exco members alleged his signature was forged.
Also, a Congress where Maigari’s removal was to be ratified, was called off and 30 of the 46 voting member of Congress distanced themselves from the impeachment process in a statement.

The NFF executive committee is expected to have a meeting on Thursday to discuss these matters and possibly move the elections from August 26.
