Arsenal closing in on £24m move for William Carvalho

According to reports in the Portuguese press, midfielder William Carvalho is close to a £24m move to Arsenal.
Manchester United indicated an interest in the 22-year-old early this summer, but it appears he is heading to the Emirates.
Carvalho has a release clause of £37m, but it is understood that Sporting Lisbon will agree a deal around £24m, because of financial issues around his third-party ownership.
Arsene Wenger is keen on a holding midfielder and the Gunners have been linked with Sami Khedira and Morgan Schneiderlin.
