Four
more parents of the abducted girls from Chibok area of Borno State have
been killed of heart attack like the seven others announced by the
Borno state government earlier, thus raising the number to eleven.
The National Chairman, Chibok community, Pogu Bitrus, made this known on Tuesday.
Dailypost reports that seven of the parents had earlier died of trauma.
Recall that the Cable online newspaper quoted Bitrus as saying that seven of the parents of the girls abducted by members of the Boko Haram sect on April 14 from their hostel at Government Secondary School, Chibok, died of heart attack and frustration.
Bitrus was said to have made this disclosure on July 5, this year.
“One father of two of the girls kidnapped just went into a kind of a coma and kept repeating the names of his daughters until life left him,” Bitrus said on Tuesday.
The community leader added that at least, four more parents died of heart failure, high blood pressure and other illnesses.
It was gathered that seven fathers of kidnapped girls were among 51 bodies brought to Chibok hospital after an attack on the nearby village of Kautakari early this month.
