Security Personnel at the scene of the bomb attack on a Federal College of Education in Kano, north-west Nigeria, have put the number of persons killed at 15 while over 30 others were injured.An eyewitnesses said that the attackers entered the Arts and Social Sciences building, firing indiscriminately at fleeing students before the explosives went off.
“They came from the main gate and started shooting people with gun. Any student they see, they will shoot him.
“They entered Art and Social Sciences and detonated the bomb,” an eyewitness said.
The State Commissioner of Police, Adenrele Shinaba, told reporters that lectures were going on when the suicide bombers entered the classroom and dropped two explosives at the lecture theatre.
The area has been deserted as residents and students scampered for safety, our reporter said.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but a terrorist group, Boko Haram that has carried out series of such attacks in the north-east is major suspect.
