Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling, has said that new signing Mario Balotelli cannot replace Luis Suarez at the club.
Suarez scored 31 goals for the Reds last season, as they attempted to win the Premier League, before sealing a £75million move to Barcelona this summer.
Balotelli arrived at Anfield in a £16million transfer and many have tipped him to become the focal point of Brendan Rodgers’ attack. However, Sterling is quick to play down such expectations.
“Luis will be missed, obviously. With 31 [league] goals in a season, anyone would miss him,” he said in an exclusive interview with Sport magazine, out tomorrow.
“He’s a massive loss, but the manager has brought in other players to fill the void.
“I haven’t come across Mario too much, but he has the ability and the goalscoring ratio to achieve great things here.

“But obviously not everyone’s going to score 31 goals, so the plan is to chip in with more goals across the team.”
