Yaya Touré in action for Manchester City v Arsenal in FA Community ShieldManchester City might not offer Yaya Toure a new deal, despite the storm he and his agent raised all through the summer.
Toure’s unhappiness was seen by many, as a ploy to improve his current £220,000-a-week contract, but the Premier League champions are not ready to be bullied.
However, Edin Dzeko and Joe Hart are expected to agree new deals next week, joining Sergio Aguero, Samir Nasri, Vincent Kompany and David Silva in tying their futures to the club.
“Yes. I think it is very important for the club to retain the best players,” Pellegrini said, referring to Agüero, Kompany and Samir Nasri, who have all signed fresh contracts this summer.
“I think it is also important for the club that they want to stay here because they are working very well and this is a club that has a lot of ambition for the future. They understand that and maybe you will know in the next few days about other players who extend their contracts.”

Toure’s deal runs out in two years, by which time he will have turned 33.
