gov_ahmedThe Kwara House of Assembly has distanced itself from any plan to impeach Governor Abdul fatah Ahmed.
The Majority Leader of the House, Alhaji AbdulKareem AbdulGaniyu, who spoke on the matter on Monday in Ilorin, stated that the impeachment rumour was fueled by a report that the House was divided over the second term bid of the governor.
Abdulkareem, however, said the House was united, adding that most of the members were from the same party.
He also maintained that the relationship between the governor and Sen. Bukola Saraki was cordial.
Abdulkareem said the reported disagreement among the lawmakers was mere speculation and “a figment of the imagination of enemies of the House”.
