N82bn allegation: Acting Governor, Fintiri vows to punish Nyako

The Acting Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Friday vowed to punish the former governor of the state, Murtala Nyako, for allegedly squandering the states resources, which he pegged at N82billion.
Fintiri, who made the disclosure during a PDP stakeholders meeting, which took place at the government house, Yola, said the punishment will serve as a lesson to any greedy politician who wants to steal public funds.
The Acting Governor said he would inaugurate a panel of inquiry which will look into the financial fraud committed by the former governor on Monday, to unravel the financial misconducts carried out by the previous administration which plunged the state into abysmal decay.
“We are going to ensure that all Adamawa funds in private accounts are retrieved back into the state coffers. We shall also ensure that all property acquired with Adamawa resources are also retrieved, so that their values can be channelled into Adamawa State resources,” he said.
