Falcao-Arsenal 1 Aug2014Monaco have insisted that Radamel Falcao will not leave the club to join Real Madrid this summer.
The Colombian striker, who missed the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, has been seriously linked with a move back to Spain, despite signing a new five-year deal with the Ligue 1 club just last year.
Falcao’s agent, Jorges Mendes, was spotted this week with Madrid president Florentino Perez, further adding fire to the rumours, but Monaco’s sporting director Vadim Vasilyev says the 28-year-old’s name has never come up in discussions.
“I have met Real officials many times, and the Falcao dossier was never discussed. There are no talks, and we really are counting on him. I think he’s happy to come back from injury and re-find his teammates,” Vasilyev told L’Equipe.

“He confirmed that he’s a great player, a great goal scorer. He missed the World Cup, it was difficult for him psychologically. But he’s a strong personality, and I hope it’ll be his season at Monaco.”
