Frank Lampard reportedly close to Manchester City switch

Reports in the British press on Thursday, claim Frank Lampard is close to a loan move to Manchester City.
The English midfielder left Chelsea on a free transfer to New York City FC, but the short-term deal is feasible, because he starts playing next year.
Lampard, who in the past insisted he will never play for another Premier League team, will sit out the September 21 clash against his former side, to avoid damaging his relationship with Chelsea fans.
Negotiations are still on and the 36-year-old is seeking assurances that he will not be a bit part player at the Etihad Stadium.
