Falconets-celebrating-their-only-goal-scoared-in-the-Mexico matchThe Falconets have qualified for the semi-final of thhe ongoing FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada, after an emphatic 4-1 win over New Zealad.
Asisat Oshoala opened scoring for the Nigerians as early as the 31st second, converting Ugo Njoku’s fine cross. Oshoala doubled their lead in the 11th minute, squeezing her shot past Lily Alfeld’s legs.
Poor finishing denied the Falconets more goals, until the second-half introduction of Sunday Uchechi. The substitute made it 3-0 with just six minutes left, before the Kiwis grabbed a consolation goal through Rolston. It was Uchechi who had the final word, with the last goal of the game.

Nigeria will now face Korea DPR in the last four. The match will be played on August 20 at the Moncton Stadium.
