Al-Makura’s impeachment: Governor appears before probe panel

Embattled Nasarawa state Governor, Tanko Al-Makura, today appeared before the Nasarawa state Assembly to defend the allegation levelled against him by 20 of the 24 members of the Assembly who are currently advocating for his impeachment.
Al-Makura who stormed the sitting of the seven-man panel set up by the state Chief judge, Sulieman Dikko was accompanied by a large political appointees in the state. He arrived the venue at exactly 9:35am.
The Governor at the point of filing this report had waited for over 50 minutes for the arrival of the Panel Chairman, Yusuf Usman and other members of the panel as they were yet to get to the venue.
Recall that 20 of the 24 Assembly members who have been pushing for Al-Makura’s impeachment have continued to insist that the governor vacates office in no distant time. They have also kicked against the appointment of Yusuf Usman as the panel’s Chairman.
