A
friendly game between Manchester City’s Elite Development Squad and HNK
Rijeka, was called off on Tuesday, after an alleged incident of racial
abuse.
City players were asked to leave the pitch shortly before half-time, after a member of HNK Rijeka was reported to have taunted Seko Fofana.
The current EPL champions confirmed in a statement that it was the club’s management that decided to withdraw the team and cancel the match.
Match officials, City representatives and the Croatian Football Association are currently deliberating if the matter will be pursued further or not.
