Former militants of Ijaw extraction under the umbrella of Meinbutu, have called on delegates at the national conference to include Toru-Ebe and Oil Rivers in the proposed states to be created.
The Meinbutus, in a statement by Ebis Moni, King Jerry Prebor, Boundle Funpu, Esokowini Akasa, Lawrence Ijokor, Afore Theodore, and Poweide Egbele, also demanded for a minimum of 50 percent derivation for the oil producing communities.
According to the group, Nigeria should not take the simplicity of the Ijaws for granted, adding that the confab committee on state creation should reconsider the Ijaw state creation proposal for fairness, equity and justice.
It further frowned at the non-inclusion of Toru-Ebe, and Oil River states among the proposed states to be created, saying it was discriminatory and another form of imperialism.
