imageThe Borno State Government has approved the sum of one hundred million Naira to assist the victims of Boko Haram insurgency in Askira/Uba Local Government Area of the state.
The State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Zannah Umar Mustapha who visited the area, said the money is to assist the victims of insurgency in the affected areas, adding that the sum of N250,000 each will be given to the families of those who lost their lives in the insurgency to facilitate their burial arrangements and other immediate problems.
He said the Borno State Governor Hon, Kashim Shettima has set up a committee headed by the state Deputy governor Alhaji Zannah Umar Mustapha.
Other members of the committee include the caretaker chairman Askira/Uba Local Government area, members of the state House of Assembly representing Askira/Uba, the commissioner, ministry of Information and the special Adviser to Governor Kashim Shettima on Health, among other members.
Mustapha said the committee members are to also asses the houses, shops and vehicles burnt in the insurgency and also compensate them appropriately, adding that to assist the internally displaced person at the camp in Uba, the sum of N200,000 has been released for the purpose of buying mats, buckets, blankets and other house hold items.
The Deputy Governor also urged them to be patient and take what happened to them as an act of God and pray for the restoration of peace back to the state.
