According to Ekhomu, the incident would have sparked violent conflict between APC and PDP supporters, between Christians and Muslims and between youth and security officials.

Ekhomu, who is also the President of the Association of Industrial Security and Safety Operators of Nigeria (AISSON) said the Kaduna bombings were pure attempt to partition the nation.
Ekhomu however hailed the security detail of Gen. Buhari for shielding the General from the bomb blast by blocking the perpetrator. According to him, the General’s protective detail “executed a perfect cover and evacuation maneuver thereby saving the General’s life”.
“Having noticed that the perpetrator was anxious to overtake the convoy, the executive protection officials became suspicious and blocked the path of the suicide bomber. Those men were courageous and professional,” he added.
